Ugashik River  Sale Pending

US Survey 8476  - Apr. 159.95 acres
Apr. GPS coordinates as shown on the Survey:  Lat. 57° 31’  59.07” N and Long. 157° 24’ 46.96” W

This property provides about ¾ miles of river frontage on the world famous Ugashik River, well known for it’s rich Salmon fishery;  be it for Kings, Reds, Silvers or….  and of course, Ugashik Lake is home to some of the largest Arctic Grayling found in Alaska.

For you hunters, well, it can hardly get any better, as there is many a trophy Brown Bear or Moose coming from this area.

This would be a great purchase for a group of guys who enjoy like wise interests, as it is almost impossible to find such a large parcel with that much river frontage in that area.

Ugashik Village is served by commercial air service out of King Salmon, so you do not need to be a pilot to enjoy the area, as one can do plenty of exploring by boat.

The Price for this “Little Jewel” is mere $225,000.-

And should you be a contractor doing any improvements on the runway or roads in Ugashik, the seller mentioned he has some of the “Best” gravel on his property.

(The seller provided us with an eloquent write up about the area, see below)

The property is located adjacent to Ugashik Village. Ugashik Village is located approximately 15 miles upriver from Ugashik Bay, along the banks of the Ugashik River. Ugashik Bay is the southernmost of four bays which comprise Bristol Bay (world class commercial salmon fishery); the others being: Egegik Bay, Kvichak Bay, and Nushagak Bay. All the species of salmon are caught in gillnets on the Ugashik River.

In addition to Bristol Bay being a "world class" commercial salmon fishery, Togiak (located on the north side of Bristol Bay) is home to one of the two main Commercial Herring Fisheries in Alaska (the other being Sitka). Additionally, Herring Roe is harvested during the Fishery.

Ugashik Village is accessible by air via a 3,280 ft. state owned and maintained gravel airstrip. Barge service is available from Seattle via Naknek and charter barge is available from Naknek. Ugashik Village is also accessible by riverboat from Ugashik Bay (Pilot Point) and other various towns and villages along Bristol Bay.

The Ugashik River is fed from the Ugashik Lakes consisting of the Lower Ugashik Lake and the Upper Ugashik Lake. The "Second Rapids" connects the Lower Lake to the Upper Lake. The "First Rapids" connects the Lower Lake to the Ugashik River. These set of rapids and adjacent areas provide excellent sportfishing for Trout, Dolly Varden, Arctic Grayling, and Silver Salmon.

A tributary of the Ugashik River called King Salmon River provides the sportflsherman with excellent King Salmon fishing.

Beluga Whales are sometimes sighted in the Ugashik River. Gray Whales are sighted outside of Ugashik Bay during their migrations. Halibut may be caught outside the mouth of Ugashik Bay, although they are not of great size.

The Alaska Peninsula, where Ugashik Village is located, is home to the famed Alaska Peninsula Brown Bear which are noted for their great size. Several remote gravel and dirt runways exist and are accessible by "bush plane". Also accessible by "bush plane" are bays and beaches located on the Pacific Side of the Alaska Peninsula.

Ugashik Village is located near the Alaska Peninsula National Wildlife Refuge. Accessible by "bush plane" is the Aniakchak National Monument and Preserve. Aniakchak Preserve provides remote camping and hiking opportunities.
