Sorry about the deed restriction, but
that is something we can not change. Other
then that, this must be the most beautiful
place on Lake Louise!
Well, I guess the church was able to
select it before anyone else had property
there, in the mid 50's. The island is
almost 2,000' across and has an array
of buildings on it of varying age, condition
and use (see photos), which can be in
most part fixed up and made quite usable
again into a youth camp, church camp,
etc.
The almost 26 acre parcel on the mainland
has around 2,000' of lake frontage, with
many building sites to compliment any
activities one may plan with the island
property.
Lake Louise is apr. 180 miles northeast
of Anchorage and apr. 20 miles off the
Glenn Highway. The newly paved road to
Lake Louise makes it an easy 3½ drive
from Anchorage. There is no road/trail
access to the property. All access is
by boat, snowmobile, float or ski plane.
Mormon Island is located in the southern
portion of Lake Louise and about a mile
north from the two lodges (see maps).
It is here where summers are beautiful
and warm and in the winter time temperatures
can occasionally reach 50 below or colder.
The ice forms on the lake usually early
October and won't melt until around the
first week of June.
Great fishing, boating, wild life viewing,
etc. One can see the mighty Nelchina caribou
herd crossing through this lake system
in early spring and fall.
Lake Louise, Susitna Lake and Tyone Lake
create a lake system of over 25 miles.
The Price is: $499,000.-
