The Taylor Highway is also known as the "Top of the World Highway" due to its scenery and history.
This nice, well built (over built) log home with NO neighbors in any direction is truly a place to see! It has a great View over the South Fork of the 49 Mile River which is mentioned in many history books of this old, back to the century mining area.
The Place is perched on a hill overlooking the river, two smaller lakes and the majestic valley.
It is located at Mile 78 in a beautiful park like setting on a gravelly hill and as the owner said, "There is no perma frost due to the excellent drainage."
If you are a Hunter – Fisherman or maybe like to scratch around in the dirt to find your fortune of gold, this is one of the "Rarest" finds of property.
Keep in mind this highway closes about the middle of October although it may be passable later on but one would have to check with the highway department. It usually opens officially some time in April. Again a call to the Highway Dept. can save you a lot of trouble and please do not attempt to push on when there is snow as you may not make it back.
In the winter it is a great way to travel by snowmobile; as a matter of fact there are several organized trips to Dawson, Yukon Territory, Canada, for fun and entertainment.
This would make not only a nice home or B&B, but also a great location for a tourist stop; i.e. Lodge or…
There used to be an old lodge a couple of miles to the south (South Fork Lodge), but it is now the State Highway Maintenance Building.
So the opportunities are definitely here and the elderly young at heart owner is right, it will take some new, energetic people to make it a go.
For all of this please take a look at the pictures and the owner's eloquent description.
The Price is only $399,000.-
Naturally the seller prefers cash due to his age, but he is a reasonable man and may even look at some owner finance options. So please let me know how much money you would have for a down payment and maybe we can just make a deal.
