About
160 miles due west of Fairbanks on a year round maintained road, is where you
find this quaint, small community of Manley. The town was made famous in the early
1900's during the Gold Rush. The healing affects the hot springs had upon the
sore backs of the hard working gold miners has continued to draw tourists.
Not
much has changed since "dem good ol' days" with the exception that most
of them "good old boys" are gone. Now you will find world class dog
mushers living throughout the area and tourists visiting during the summers and
winters.
This is a rare find,
as the property fronts on a slough, which gives you boat access to the mighty
Tanana River, land a float plane and or catch some of the huge Pike present in
the slough. Naturally there is wildlife galore in this wilderness setting!
If
an outdoor lifestyle is what you are looking for in a remote setting and yet still
having some modern conveniences; such as year round road access and power directly
to the property, this has to be the right spot for you.
The
approx. 16'X24" cabin with a loft is of the 1930's vintage, but it does have
a concrete foundation and a metal roof. The appliances are basic, but one could
move in with a few personal touches. Even the "Old" outhouse is there,
a sign of truly bush living.
You
may be able to fix the cabin up to your liking, yet still keeping the ambiance
of days gone by, or you may want to make it a tourist rental and build your own
log cabin on the remaining waterfront property. The choice is yours.
Offered
for the very affordable price of only $95,000.-
(It has been brought to our attention that Manley has an excellent K-12 school, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year)
