A beautiful and protected large tract of land, well treed on this ever so popular lake. You may ask why this lake is so popular. Well, it is only one of two lakes on the whole Yentna River system that is accessible by boat. Even by barge, if the water level is right, for hauling building materials in.
Of course, there is always the fly in access; floats or skis, from Anchorage, Willow or Talkeetna. It is about a 45 minute flight from Anchorage. By boat from the Deshka Landing, it is about 3 hours depending upon the boat or by snowmobile from the Deshka Landing, it is about the same time.
This is a great place to base yourself out of; be it for fantastic fishing at the mouth of Hewitt Creek for Kings, Reds or Silvers. The lake itself has great Pike fishing and if you want to explore by boat there are some great fishing “Hot Spots”, like Kichatna River and Johnson Creek or you may even want to venture over to the Talachulitna River.
For hunting, be it moose or bear, “black or brown” you literally have hundreds of miles of river systems to find that “Trophy”.
If you are not a pilot or don’t want a long boat ride you can go by boat or snowmobile to Skwentna about 8 miles away, where you get mail service, catch one of the air taxi flights or mail flights to Anchorage or just visit the Skwentna Roadhouse for a brew or a tasty hamburger they are famous for.
All said, a rare find at a great price. $25,000.-
