This is one of the “Premier” Salmon streams in south central Alaska. Many fishermen can attest to the fantastic King and Silver Salmon fishing that have made the trip by jet boat from Talkeetna to the mouth of Clear Creek with one of several local fish guiding outfits.
Although I have been told that there is also some great Rainbow fishing, especially in the fall. For those of you who like the wild life, particularly bears, anytime you are close to a salmon river you will have bears. And of course, there are moose, fox and with some luck you may see the occasional lynx or wolf. And you can be sure to see lots of Eagles as they feast on the spawning salmon.
The creek will be too shallow most of the time to take a jet boat up to the property, although it may be worth your while to try when the water level is higher. What you can do is take your ATV from Talkeetna, cross the Talkeetna River at the railroad bridge and go besides the railroad up to the gravel pit (about 5 miles) and from there take a 4 wheeler trail leading east towards the property. Don’t confuse the roads shown on the maps as actual roads, as at best they are ATV trails or snowmobile trails. There are many trails throughout the area and I believe one can get pretty close to the property.
This is a popular winter or summer area and has a relatively easy year round access if you are just a little bit adventuresome and you will like this area and all that it has to offer.
From the mouth of Clear Creek it is only 4 miles up the Creek, or a total of apr. 10 river miles from Talkeetna.
A great buy for only $25,000.-
