If owning property on the Kobuk has been on your mind for awhile, well you are lucky. We just happened to find a rare piece up the river from the village of Kobuk about 20 some miles.
There is just about any species of game you can think of and of course, the Fishing is outstanding on this crystal-clear river. Be in it: Sheefish up to 40 lbs., huge Pike, Salmon, you name it, it is all there.
Float the river, travel by jet boat and literally explore hundreds of river miles, visit the Gates of the Arctic National Preserve or check out the famous sand dunes in the Kobuk Valley National Park / Wilderness.
Summer in this area is downright pleasant, so one can enjoy all the outdoor activities one wants to engage in.
The seller built 2 nice Cabins, although there is still a little bit of work left to do so you can build your own nest so to speak.
Access would be by a Super Cub on floats. For much bigger aircrafts you may have to be careful once the water level recedes in mid-summer. Maybe if you have a strong back and a big chain saw, you may be able to clear some brush for a wheel strip. Should you not be a pilot you may take your boat to the village of Kobuk and fly out of there.
Please pull up on Google pictures of Kobuk National Park for the wildlife and fishing in the area.
Be sure to read the owner's description of the cabins and his eloquent write-up about the area.
Without saying, the "Best of All" is the price of only $199,000.-!!!
Where else can you buy a piece of Paradise for that price?
