    Dear customer, the owner made a great effort on describing the cabin and all its attributes and we can not improve on his description. The numbers correspond with the pictures for your convenience.

    #1: main outside view of cabin. Bevel cedar siding, 2x4 frame construction. Bear shutters for all windows and front door. Note shallow well (white pipe), antenna pole sticking up from rear of cabin. Octagonal window has partial view of Mt Susitna. Side door opens into an "arctic entry" for wood storage, circuit-breaker panel, shelves for charcoal, and switch to operate well pump.

    #2: N side of cabin during construction in 1996. Antenna pole now rests on upper deck. Two windows ar right are in arctic entry. Propane tank connects beneath small kitchen window. Note bay window with shutter closed; this has a comfortable bench seat inside in the kitchen area, above the battery storage (access hatch visible beneath closed window).

    #3: ATV/generator/outhouse shed. ATV is 1989 Polaris Trail Boss (bought used from Exxon Valdex spill cleanup). 2.5 KW Jacobsen generator plugs to cabin for cabin 120V power on some outlets, and to run well pump. Two big spruce trees were a threat to the cabin, so they are now cut down.

    #4: kitchen sink and tiled countertop during construction. Grey water drain to outside "septic pit". 120-v outlet above counter at left; wire at right is 12-v for exhaust hood over cook stove and RV fluorescent light above counter.

    #5: on left, oil stove and part of built-in couch during construction. Stairs to 2nd floor at lower right. Downstairs all linoleum floor.

    #6: sauna and hot tub during construction.

    #7: living area, finished. Most of cabin interior is tongue-in-groove pine; area above sink in kitchen is wallpaper on sheetrock. Front door at far right, stove is just out of view to right.

    #8: a wolverine peeled off the T111 siding panel to get into the generator shed (the open area at far right is the open overhead door). Gas drum at rear (you'll need to carry your own gas out there, don't forget.)

    (there's no #9): fall colors out the two picture windows in the living area. The L-shaped couch converts to a sleeping pad for 2 people.

    #10: 2000 Ski-Doo Tundra II snowmachine (seat and windscreen removed for storage). The snowmachine and custom steel freight sled, the ATV and freight wagon, and 18-ft Lowe riverboat and 1982 Suzuki 40-hp jet outboard are all included. All are time-worn but work well; the outboard, for example, has been brought to town twice since new for rebuild by Anchorage Suzuki(? on Spenard Road).

    Small TV set runs from inverter-powered wall outlet; also a generator-powered 120V outlet upstairs for running vacuum cleaner. The "water storage tank" is there but has never been connected to the well. A propane or 120V RV refrigerator is outside on the upper deck; thermostat for propane mode doesn't work any more but runs fine either propane or generator.

    Lighting is (1) propane lamps, or (2) 12V RV lamps above kitchen sink, stove, and above each of the two beds upstairs, or (3) one kitchen light is 120V powered from the inverter, and can be turned on from upstairs for those midnight trips down the stairs.

    #11: construction layout of first floor. My first cabin on Alex Creek was 2x6, but I decided that 2x4 would suffice even in coldest weather. So this one is 2x4, and I've survived to 40 below in it (although the only place you'd want to sit and read a book in shirtsleeves at that temp is upstairs).

    #12: shows tub filled and woodstove in operation. Note painted trim not visible in cab6 figure.

    #13: construction layout for second floor. Unfortunately, no surviving pics of the upstairs. It's also 1x6 tongue-in-groove, floor is varnished 2x6 tongue-in-groove on exposed 4x4 beams (exposed to main floor). Two separate sleeping areas, separated by paneled stairwell. Beds are onsite-built plywood frames about 10 inches high, with 3-inch foam padding for mattresses; each sleeps two.

    The price for all of this is only; $80,000 $40,000-. Owner would consider financing with $25,000 down, the balance over 5 years at 5% interest APR.
