It seems like every ten years or so one of those rare parcels of land becomes available, that everyone wants only so few can afford and only one lucky one will end up with it.
A large portion of this property (the easterly side is "IN" the Gates of the Arctic National Park Wilderness area) while the other portion is in the Park.
No doubt it is hard to get there and yes if you make it you may never see another person, well other then the pilot who will pick you up.
The owner, in her younger days, went to the property in an Argo from Anaktuvik Pass (she taught school there). Quite a trip she remembers through some of the most gorgeous and untouched area one could ever imagine.
She remembered they fished there; catching lots of Grayling, Lake Trout and saw other big Fish in the lake that were not biting (presumably Arctic Char?). All of this in a pristine setting and untouched by mankind.
As you can see from the Google shot you are definitely out of civilization, the place is hard to get to and is definitely home to large Caribou herds – the Grizzly – Artic Fox and well, one can indulge himself in the many books that have been written by great authors about the Gates of the Arctic National Park /Wilderness Area.
Or check out the many publications about this area by the National Park Service.
To get there, one would have to start in Fairbanks and from there fly on a scheduled air carrier to Bettles. You may spend a night at Bettles Lodge and then one would have to charter a float plane to the destination, which is about a good hour flight northwesterly.
Make sure you have your camera ready! As even for us Alaskans, this is "Impressive Wilderness" you will see for miles and miles.
The Price is $199,900.-
If you are serious, do not hesitate, as you won't be the lone bidder on this Property.
