Mankomen Lake is one of the prettiest settings of any lake in Alaska. It is right on the bottom of the Alaska Range and a great jumping off point for Sheep – Moose – Caribou or Grizzly hunters.
The access is by floatplane, either a charter flight from Tolsona Lake near Glennallen or one may possibly get there with an Argo or 4 wheel drive ATV either from the small native village of Mentasta or possibly from Chistochina, if you are familiar area and some of the trails.
The cabin itself, well it is a "Rustic" hunting cabin and has served the owner well over the years. Nothing fancy but a place to stay warm, have a roof over your head and share your hunting stories. By the way, the fishing there is not too bad either.
The owner did a very eloquent narrative of the property (see below) which says it all.
As Prepared by the Owner:
"Mankomen Lake is a scenic and beautiful 3 mile long clear water lake with wonderful views of the Alaska Range and mountains and glaciers. Good hunting with fishing right out the front door. This 5 acre parcel is by far the best location on the lake and the only property on the west side of the lake with a bay perfect for safe float plane mooring. The property has approx. ¼ mile (1300' I think, see plat) of lake frontage. The parcel is basically level with good ground with trees and a gravel lake shore. The cabin/shack is very basic and needs work but is a great hunting shelter with wood stove, propane stove and sink and easily sleeps 5 people. The real value of this parcel is its location on a remote Alaskan lake with the beautiful views. Price includes 14' skiff with 15 hp Yamaha and various tools, etc. The parcel is not in an organized borough so there are no property taxes. Lake elevation 3001'."
The Price is only $69,500.-
Seller prefers cash.
