At the end of the road, so to speak, about 11 miles easterly from McCarthy along a “Pioneer Road”, ATV or 4WD P/U truck accessible.
This is truly God’s country. You are just a skip and a hop out of the Nations largest Park, “Wrangell St. Elias National Park”.
This area lends itself nicely for Hiking – Exploring – Ice Climbing – Float Trips from there to Chitina for some great Fishing or Wild Life viewing.
For those of you who are not familiar with the area (a little history) the bridge across the Nizina River washed out many, many years ago and I do not think the new steward of the land (The National Park Service) has the interest or funds to ever rebuild it again.
Also in order to cross the Kennecott River with a vehicle, 4 wheeler, etc. there is a toll bridge one has to use.
You are about a good 6 hour drive out of Anchorage, a beautiful day trip through some of the most beautiful areas Alaska has to offer.
These properties are a rare find, deep into the wilderness, totally off the grid and yet one can still get there with a little effort.
Take a look and pick the one that suits you best (please see the List for Price and Size).
